After 20 years working in the golf industry, my heart told me it was time to make a change. So in August 2005, I embarked on the intensive ISR Instructor training. What a wonderfully amazing career change this has been. Being an ISR Instructor, teaching aquatic Self-Rescue™ skills to infants and toddlers is the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life.
Born in the North Shore of Chicago, I consider myself an Oregonian as we moved to the Portland, Oregon area when I was 10 years old. I am proud to be a University of Oregon graduate - GO DUCKS! Currently I serve as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona. Previously I had the honor to be a member of the Board of Directors for Crisis Nursery and served as chairperson for the 2010 Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona's Blue Prints and Blue Jeans Fundraiser. My family consists of 2 cats, Dippy Dot and Jelly Bean, and three dogs, Bentley, Gidget and Moondoggie. Bentley prides himself as the Arcadia Swim for Kids mascot.

I have been involved with swim as long as I can remember. From being a toddler that cried anytime I was put near a pool, to a Swim Director in Maricopa I have done it all. I swam at Mountain Pointe High School and was captain of my team in 2009. During that time I taught swim lessons for kids between the ages of 2-15, teaching things from safety all the way to how to compete. I love the water and spreading knowledge of how to practice safety around the pool is one of the most important skill sets for me to teach. The pool has been a place of so much fun for me throughout my life that I hope to help others share that same experience.
